Protect
your investment: These are high quality lightning
arrestors; easily installed either directly on the
antenna or between the 400 series cable and the pigtail.
You should also also protect the power outlet with a
Surge Suppressor. These can also be purchased at
your local home improvement store.
Typical Install (w/o
amplifier):
Pigtail from wireless device to
Lightning Arrestor is N-Male to RP-SMA/TNC Male.
Lightning Arrestor is grounded to ground rod. The
antenna cable from Lightning
Arrestor to antenna is N-Male to N-Female. |

Moisture and corrosion are major causes of signal loss.
Our self-amalgamating "cold shrink" tape is much better
than coax sealant as it can be easily removed without
leaving residue. Once coax sealant cures, it adheres
permanently to the cable and connectors making it
impossible to remove or disassemble the connection.
Electrical tape is simply not durable enough to provide
a long lasting outdoor weatherproof seal. Our
self-amalgamating tape is simply amazing stuff...easy to
apply, easy to remove, and leaves the appearance of a
professional looking installation.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Remove the separator (backing) and stretch the tape to
approximately 50% of its normal width. Start at the
lower end approximately 1 inch before the heatshrink
keeping the tape under tension while wrapping,
overlapping successive layers by 1/2 of the width of the
stretched tape. Finish the wrapping approximately 1 inch
past the heatshrink by holding the tape under thumb and
snap by stretching. The high degree of stretch will
permit the tape to fill all voids and ensures rapid
amalgamation creating a completely weatherproof seal.

World’s Smallest 1 watt, bi-directional
amplifier designed in a completely weatherproof housing
for
all outdoor applications. |

The average power output of an access point is
approximately 15-17 dBm (32-50 mW). This amplifier is
capable of boosting the power output to a full 32 dBm
(1W+) enabling you to transmit the wireless signal to
areas far beyond what is normally possible. The
amplifier should be installed directly at the antenna
(after all cable losses) so that the output is boosted
to a full 1W at the antenna. When transmitting beyond
1000 feet, an amplifier is recommended at both ends so
that both transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) signals are
amplified.
Typical Installation:
Pigtail from wireless
device/radio to Power Injector is N-Male to RP-SMA/TNC
Male. The
antenna cable from power injector
to amplifier is N-Male to N-Male. The coax amplifier is
installed between the antenna cable and lightning
arrestor. The lightning arrestor is connected to a short
extension cable (N-Male to N-Female) going to the
antenna (to protect the amplifier, power injector and
wireless device/radio). Lightning Arrestor is grounded
to ground rod and the amplifier and lightning arrestor
are tied to the antenna mast directly below the antenna.
For best performance, the power input to the amplifier
should not exceed 12dBm. This is easily accomplished by
using a minimum of 35' 400 type cable PLUS a 60" pigtail
in conjunction with a standard 15 dBm access point. |
